Whenever you’re comparing gas vs battery. It’s important to realise you’re effectively buying the gas upfront. An AR3000L backpack battery is advertised to have up to 1500 charge cycles. So to be conservative. Let’s say that’s equivalent to 1200 gas tank refills. How much is a stihl br430 and 2040 litres of gas cost? Then there’s the added cost of maintenance. Spark plugs, air filters, valve adjustments. None of which is needed with battery. To give a fair comparison all of these things need to be factored in.

It’s a clever machine, but if it’s using a brush it must pick up some dirt too. This is probably a good choice though when a leaf blower is not appropriate.

I have a KM130 and it runs like garbage if you use anything but Stihl Ultra synthetic oil. The problem is, I can’t buy it at any of the dealerships anymore, so I’m stuck having to buy Stihl moto-mix for that one. The rest of my Stihl equipment runs fine on regular Stihl oil and premium gas.

I agree that your video was a help so thank you. However, I do feel that you should have an assistant holding the camera and proper lighting as it would have made it so much easier to see what you wanted us to see. Also, you omitted to show how to adjust the headband by pulling it down and twisting the knurled knob. Seems obvious, but one of your commentators asked the question. Maybe worth redoing? Thanks again.

It is 2 stroke, so much higher RPMs than a 4 stroke. Great setup.

Stihl recommends HP Ultra for 4Mix engines. But there are better oils available like Amsoil Saber. Or even Echo Red Armor.

Very disappointing to find that this “product review” didn’t actually involve showing the product, at all.

There is a company that still makes replacement parts for a lot of the Howard gems. Those were by far the best walk behind rototiller ever made in the world! I was fortunate enough to get an old one and got it working and used it in a business for several years. By the way, the man in that video doesn't know how to run that thing properly! And dowdeswell bought out the rototiller division and made them for a while. Mine was an old one that had a dry-sump 9 horsepower J.A. Prestwich engine on it. Those walk-behind tillers will do evey bit just as beautiful of a job as a tractor mounted rototiller if they are used to properly. They can leave a beautifully smooth surface with no tire marks and no footprints!

Hi I have one of these and they are really good. However, I find it hard to remove the spark plug cap can you advise. It appears to be located at the front of the machine but instead of a rubber cap it appears to be metal. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You stated nothing more than what was on the screen already, which looks like it came off an internet sellers site. Your explanation of the machine was poor. 3:54 minutes of my time wasted.

I run a 6 tooth multi tip mt2 type wheel and have never had a problem with bolts breaking . Maybe that was the reason for the mt2 design wheel. Ps I run a greenmech (Laski) 22hp diesel belt driven machine

Hello Stefan, My apologies for the late reply, I have just seen your comment! I think I have found the issue now; although I was tightening the bolts up to the correct tension, it didn't appear to be enough. I now tighten the bolts and then, with a flat centre punch, hammer the keeper block a few times, which enables me to tighten the bolts a bit more. I have been doing this for the past 18 months, it has solved the issue. Roy
